• about the DESIGN

Our ruched scarf, designed by Jennifer Evans, was created to add subtle feminine flourish to the scarf equation (think of it as ruffles with restraint). We couldn't resist turning the gathered bands on their side with a lacier yarn for an ethereal wrap on a dramatic scale. Wear it as a party shawl, or as an unexpected scarf over a tailored coat. Heaven!

FINISHED SIZES
Scarf: Approx. 6 x 72"/15 x 183cm.
Wrap: Approx. 77 x 16"/196 x 41cm.

YARN
Scarf: Shown lower center and right: 3 skeins Rowan Kid Classic (153 yds/140m each), Color 841. Or approx. 420 yds/384m of an equivalent worsted-weight yarn.
Wrap: Shown upper row: 5 skeins Rowan Kidsilk Haze (229 yds/210m each), Color 590. Or approx. 1120 yds/1025m of an equivalent lace-weight mohair and silk yarn.

NEEDLES
US 8 (5mm) 24"/60cm circular, or size to obtain gauge.
US 10 (6mm) 24–32"/60–80cm circular, or two sizes larger than gauge needle.

GAUGE
Approx. 15 sts = 4"/10cm in garter stitch on smaller needles.

• NOTES

Knitting either the scarf or wrap is pure pleasure–there is a rhythmic breath-like quality about the in and out. We think the finished product reflects this ease and flow. And although the wrap takes a lot of yarn, you may discover you'd like to make more than one. Our original is so very airy and romantic, but wouldn't it be great in black (with or without a little sparkle)?
