• about the DESIGN
One more smart little sock joins our roster of basic sock patterns. With a super-easy short-row shaping method at the toe and heel, it’s easy to master, easy to remember, easy to start and easy to finish! Introduced at the 2019 LYS Tour, we’ve had great fun playing with variations ever since. Herewith, a few fun ideas.

FINISHED SIZES
Medium-width adult: Up to 10"/25cm foot on 8"/20cm cuff. For longer foot, knit shorter cuffs or purchase more yarn.
Note: Finished sock length should be ½"/1.25cm shorter than actual foot length measured from back of heel to tip of toe.
YARN
Approx. 400 yds/366m fingering-weight sock yarn (includes approx. 14 yds/13m for contrasting toe and heel). Add or subtract 22 yds/20m per knitted 1"/2.5cm per pair.
Note: Choose a yarn with some nylon and high twist for long-lasting, hard-wearing socks.
Shown in black in 1 skein Regia Premium Merino Yak (437 yds/400m each), Color 7512.
Shown in red with gold heels and toes in 2 skeins Regia Premium Merino Yak (437 yds/400m each); 1 skein each Color MC = 7507 and CC = 7504.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 1 (2.25mm) set of 5 double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge.
US D/3 (3.25mm) crochet hook for provisional cast-on.
1 yd/m smooth fingering-weight waste yarn for provisional cast-on.
1 locking marker.
Darning needle to finish.
GAUGE
Approx. 32 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking.
